Medication Requests

  • Please have your pharmacy contact us for refills. If you need to be seen in order to get refills, you will be notified.
  • Please allow 24-48 hours to process all refill requests. If a prior authorization is needed, this process may take longer.
  • Blood tests may be needed to adjust the dosages of your medications and monitor for any adverse side effects. Your refill may not be processed if you have not completed your required blood tests.
  • As a standard of care, if you are sick and feel you need an antibiotic or other prescription medication, you will be asked to come in for evaluation to avoid something being missed or overlooked. We do not prescribe medications for conditions for which we have not treated you for in our office.
  • We do not call in narcotics, tranquilizers, or other controlled substances without seeing you in the clinic.

After Hours and Emergencies

  • Dr. Tui is on-call after hours for urgent medical problems.
  • After hours calls are not used to address your chronic medical problems or your routine prescription refill requests. It is also not used to make appointments or address insurance questions. Please call during office hours for these matters.
  • If you are in need of seeing a physician after hours, you will be directed an urgent care center or the hospital.
  • If you are admitted to Halifax Hospital or Florida Hospital, you will be cared for by a designated group of hospital doctors as Dr. Tui does not make rounds in the hospital.
  • If you have a life-threatening emergency, dial 911 immediately for medical attention or go to the nearest emergency room.

Forms & Letters Policy

  • Completing certain insurance/employer forms and writing letters is not a medical service and is not paid for by the insurance.
  • A $25 fee may be assessed for completing forms and writing letters. This does not apply to requests for disable parking permits or DNR forms.
  • Please allow up to one week for this service.

No Show Policy

  • If you are unable to keep your appointment, kindly give 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
  • A $25 no show fee may be assessed for a missed appointment. If you have a no show fee, you are expected to pay this fee before your next appointment.
  • After 2 no show visits, you may be discharged from the practice.
